Grad Film - "Waves"

My final year graduate film available for viewing at Brighton University Saturday the 3rd of June 2023.

My interests within expressionism have led me to embrace the use of texture and colour within my works, seeking to encapsulate feelings and stories. My final project, Waves, engages with concepts of struggle, identity and hope. Utilizing frame-by-frame animation to capture life and energy within my scenes, my visualized narratives draw upon fantasy aspects to create characters and feats that anyone can engage with and relate to.

NHS - Freedom To Speak up

Animation completed within Procreate, Photoshop and Aftereffects.

Members of the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB) were in need of a way to take in information about their new Freedom To Speak Up plan in a more engaging way.

Using hand drawn boil imagery referenced from within their promotional material as well as some of my own concepts, this animation goes over the basics whilst familiarising viewers with the imagery and concepts attempting to be summarised by SECAMB, in a more digestible format.

SEAS - cruising

A film I was tasked to animate on top of in order to curate an interactive narrative within footage filmed by SEAS (Socially Engaged Art Salon) creative director and founder, Dr Gil Mualem-Doron.

The original content being field recordings of Maspalomas (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands,) filmed on an iPhone at knee level by Dr Mualem-Doron, I designed and animated characters to work within this world and environment in order to tell the story of two men cruising together, resulting in ultimate possible romance.

Unattainability

Final Year - Sem 1, Animation 1

My topic of study was representations of women in media, this particular animation depicting the concept of how unattainability is sold to women.

Animation completed within Procreate (hand drawn frame-by-frame) and AfterEffects.

To continue my topic of study for this semester, I chose to depict a more emotive intimate story of the expectations of a woman's role within the home.

The Ferguson Report - Poetry Animation

Animation completed within Procreate (hand drawn frame-by-frame) and edited within AfterEffects.

This piece of work is in accompaniment to poetry by Nicole Sealey titled "Erasure".

The poem is an abstract, using the method of black out poetry to reconstruct a police report of the unlawful shooting and resulting death of high school senior Michael Brown, shot by a police officer. This event awoke protests within Ferguson to question the American police force and justice for the civil rights movement.
